In the month of May, you may or may not have noticed, I had a blog publish everyday. Well, almost. After the first couple of weeks I discovered my weekend posts didn’t get the hits I wanted them to, which makes perfect sense. So I went to a Monday through Friday publishing schedule.
What I Learned Blogging Everyday
Obviously I didn’t write every day. Sometimes I would write an article and publish it a few days later. Other times I would write an article that would takes me days to complete.
1. I forgot what I wrote
Reading my published articles was awesome for me! Which really helped my confidence as a writer. I also gave them a re-read, and was able to correct typos. When I write an article sometimes I am tired by the end of it, and I speed through it. But being on a publication schedule gave me a chance to re-read something that wasn’t fresh.
However, I didn’t always read it. People would come up to me and say things about certain articles, and in my mind, I really didn’t remember posting it. Because I had already came up with a way I was going to make it better, I honestly forgot what I wrote.
2. Search Engines Love it
I noticed more organic traffic. It wasn’t always referred by the keyword I thought it was, and I didn’t necessarily land on page one, but it made me realize that people do still use the third and fourth pages of google search results.
3. Opportunity Strikes
When posting once a week, you think about your blog once a week. When posting all the time, you think about it all the time. I felt like I was running out of ideas, I needed more inspiration, and it pushed me harder than before. Now it seems like opportunity comes to me, rather than me seeking out opportunity.
Why blog everyday?
Exposure… this is a for-profit blog, and you can’t make money if you don’t have a customer. I hate that. I wish money just magically appeared in my bank account. I honestly wish people just gave me money for being me. But you have to trade goods and/or services to make a profit.
So in order for that to happen, people have to find me. End of story. Every blog I post reaches a certain number of people, so the more I post the bigger my audience gets.
I will go ahead and apologize for the month of June to anyone that is following me on twitter, or Facebook. I am about to be posting a lot on there.
Thanks for reading
