Not sure if you know… I don’t really watch a lot of TV. Someone said to me on their deathbed they really doubted they would have wished they watched more TV.
Ditch the Dish
Ultimately, I canceled my Dish Network subscription. I had to pay a fee… It wasn’t a huge deal to me. My wife and kids still needed TV though so what did we do?
First, we went with SlingTV. It was an ironic switch since SlingTV is actually owned by Dish Network. It worked really well. We were happy with it.
Funny, I had this already. It didn’t go anywhere. It is too cheap. Great value.
Guess what… all that money I am saving… I upped my subscription and went commercial free.
Amazon Fire Stick
All my TVs weren’t smart TVs. So I did purchase an Amazon Fire Stick for all of my TVs. I even got one for the TV I have that is a smart TV. I love it. I like to just sit and play some of the mind numbing games on the TV… for well, no good reason.
I did cancel my SlingTV after a couple of months and I have recently picked up DirecTV Now. It is honestly very similar. I have had a few buffering issues with it, but I also had those with SlingTV. The main reason for my switch… If you prepaid 3 months you get a Free Apple TV.
I have yet to try the ROKU or Playstation VUE.
I plan to try those at some point. Then again when football season rolls around it does seem like DirecTV Now does have the best offering for the sports I watch. Who knows what I will be watching by then.
