A friend asked me how I wrote a book. Easy! I wrote it down. So that isn’t entirely the truth in whole. There was editing, development, and lots of other craziness.
The principle is sound, but here is what I actually meant. I keep a journal. It is nice. I paid more for it than I pay for any book. For the most part, it is the only book I actually own. (I sold all of my books, and now only have digital copies.)
I started out with a composition notebook. I actually started with sticky notes. Then I moved to a composition notebook. The problem with writing on something cheap is, you will often write just to write. Now that I have a leather-bound journal, I only write the most precious thoughts, and goals.
That is not to say I don’t write a lot of thoughts down, but I don’t doodle, or write something trivial down.
What I write in “My Magic Journal”
Why so simple?
Because that is why my blog is about. I have terrible ideas come up all the time, that I act upon. I end up purchasing the domain name, add it to my hosting, then next thing I know a year has passed and it is time for me to renew (which I don’t).
One day I may split this blog into “2” sections, but for now, it is the Guide to Wealth AND Health.
Give up the sticky notes!
Once I got something nicer to write in, I gave up the sticky notes. I didn’t just throw them out. I re-wrote every personal development note that I had taken.
Some of them I had no idea what I wrote or what I meant. So those did get trashed. Eventually, I got an entire notebooks worth of information down to around 20 pages.
That was the first 20 pages of my journal.
What happens when I run out of room?
You buy another journal. Keep the old one, you will want it later.
This day and age you don’t necessarily need a library of books. Tai Lopez talks about reading a book a day, and how he has this massive library. Which is great for Tai! Want to see my library?
Mr. Lincoln is actually larger than the whole thing! But how big is that??? 684 books. Not too shabby.
My library (in digital and journal) can and will be passed on. The more important one will be the one in journal format. Reason being… when I die everything that I have not written down leaves with me.
Thanks for reading,
