Speak the truth and the truth will set you free. Why is every politician a liar? Because every politician is a slave to their party.
Most recently we can look at our Presidential election for proof of this exact logic.
Hillary Clinton during her primary got to rip Bernie Sanders a new one every chance she got. In fact, despite the huge field of Republican candidates Bernie kept gaining support for his values. Ultimately, she won the bid.
Political Party Politics
After she won the backing of her party (some would argue she won it before they even started), she sought Bernie’s endorsement. His endorsement was conditional. The condition was free education. She ultimately changed her stand on a topic she debated against him on, just for the endorsement.
Republicans are no different. There are many scenarios that Republicans flip-flop on immigration and gun control. Because they seek approval for their party standards.
The Playground Political Party
Humans are born to seek approval. At a young age, we all have to face our parents and we use the excuse but “they” are doing it.
“If they all jumped off a bridge together would you do the same thing!”
Why is it that a logic so easy to follow somehow managed to make it into our country. If our politicians had our best interest in mind rather than the best interest of their political party the world would soon be a better place.
I might be wrong about what I have been advocating here tonight…
That quote is from Bill Clinton talking about religion and love (something he obviously knew a lot about).
But why is it so hard for us to realize that we might be wrong about something that we are advocating?
Enter the Butt-hurt
Our feelings are too frail as a society. I offend so many people on a daily basis be being anti-abortion. I receive several messages a day and ultimately get blocked on social media (for the record if you block me before I read the message, I don’t actually get to see the message).
I have also offended people because I am pro-gun. I am not pro-gun because of all of the guns I own. I am pro-gun because of all the people that would lose jobs if we suddenly decided to outlaw them. These people are close friends and if you want to personally want to voice your opinion to them about why you don’t want them to have a job-related to guns you are more than welcome to do so. I will tell you where they work and you can go visit. (I will warn you, they won’t be happy to see you, and they are also armed.)
I could, however, be completely wrong about either of these stances. One day I may stand before God in judgment and he may laugh at me for thinking such crazy things. I don’t know I am not him.
One thing I do know is I will not stand before God and be judged by opinions that aren’t my own.
Thank you for your continued support,
