Going through psychology when I was in college, or psych as we called it then the professor told us about 2 types of stress.
These two types of stress were called Eustress (good) and Distress (bad).
Eu-stress would be something like a major life event (wedding, home purchase, job promotion, etc.)
Distress would be a major life event with a bad twist (divorce, foreclosure, being fired, etc.)
When I first heard about this I only had one thought… That’s it? Every life event would be in 2 categories AND they are both trying to kill me.
Obviously, every road needs a guide. Maybe it is your map or your GPS… maybe even memory, but every time you set out on a direction, you need a guide.
