Did you know the more you publish on your blog the more people read your blog? When I started out blogging I wrote about 10 articles before I published my first one. I wrote because I wanted content for my blog. I didn’t want people to go to an empty blog.
To this day 0 of those original articles have been published.
Write for you first
If you have a thought, get it out of your head and onto paper (or a computer screen). Complete it if possible. If not, leave it sitting to revisit one day.
Those posts I have, are sitting for me to re-visit. I can only imagine how terrible they will actually be. Seeing as how what I write now to be gold, compared to the manure that I first wrote.
I still write the occasional dud. Then I edit it and repost it.
How to Publish More
I stole this idea, except I didn’t. Have you ever thought about SEO? When you write you shouldn’t think about it. Here is why: SEO is like a game of roulette. You can’t always win. However, you do always have a shot.
There have been dozens of articles written about it. None of them are 100% accurate.
Here is a little study I did myself. I wrote about goal setting because it is the best thing you can do for personal development. I split the series up. I linked all the posts together, so it is easy to navigate. It was fantastic for SEO. I could have written one huge post about the whole process, but that would have only been posted one time on the search engines. So, six posts got to go under six keywords.
So, when you have a post that is over 2,000 words ask yourself, could this be 3 posts?
Think of your ranking… would you rather be number 1 on google for something very specific…. or number 200 for a really hot keyword. (Given the choice always be number 1!)
Also given the choice between being number 1 on Bing, or being 200 on google…. always pick number 1.
