For the longest, most of my traffic came from Facebook. I should be loyal, right? I would love to be loyal and scream Facebook’s name from the rooftops…. if they didn’t censor people.
Why Twitter is Better than Facebook!
If you follow me on Twitter…. you HAVE to see EVERYTHING I post. On Facebook, we can be connected and you see absolutely nothing I ever post… why? Because there is an algorithm that Facebook decides what you want to see. Facebook decides what you see based on the likelihood that someone will like it or share it.
Take that a step further. If you have a business and think you are sharing something on your business page to each of your followers… think again. You are only sharing it to a portion, and for a nominal fee… you can share it with everyone.
On Twitter, you are sharing everything with everyone. Then for a small fee, you can share it with people that aren’t following you.
As I was typing this portion of the post I realized that this was going to be the longest part of this blog, and decided to write a separate article. So just know…. there are way more Facebook hackers than Twitter hackers.
Friends vs Followers
If I am your friend on Facebook… I probably have met you. If I follow you on Twitter, I am just looking at what you post.
If I deny your friend request you will be hurt. If I don’t follow back (I always do) that doesn’t mean much. Twitter gives people a deniable plausibility. I can say… oh you follow me, that is awesome. If I don’t friend you though I have created an awkward situation. Then it becomes really awkward if someone unfriends someone else.
Never fret though… Facebook will just randomly unfriend people for you… to create another level of social awkwardness to our already socially awkward lives. (Thanks, Facebook!)
Below is a video that displays and example of this… if you don’t want to watch to the entirety of the video, you can follow this link to get to the part I am referencing.
