Am I a Democrat or Republican? Am I a conservative or liberal? Am I insane? All of these questions need an answer to win some peoples vote. However, I am not going to answer them. The reason is simple…..
I am not crazy. If I was crazy I would pick a side. The definition of insanity (despite contrary belief) is extreme irrationality.
The definition of irrationality is something containing no logic or reasoning.
The problem with insanity is that it is subjective. You don’t know you are insane. That is actually what makes you insane. Everyone thinks their argument is logical… thus both appear insane to the other because again being insane is being extremely irrational.
So, Alabama is a red state…. whatever that means. I, personally, like to chalk that up to a college football reference due to all of the national championships the Crimson Tide has won.
Which makes perfect sense, because there are certain parts of the state that are blue, and the Tigers have won a couple of them too.
I am talking about the Alabama/Auburn Rivalry. Which gets pretty intense, more intense than Alabama Politics. If you don’t believe me… well you are obviously not from this state, and this message isn’t for you.
However, it is just 2 college teams fighting over a ball (mostly a football, but we let them play every other sport too and cheer for the good guys and boo the bad guys).
This is something trivial. At the end of the day, we all go home. Our politics are different though. We don’t just go home. We fight bicker and moan. Rather than meeting in the middle, we just wait for the next election. If the team we wanted don’t win, we blame the other side. That is what we do. Frankly, it sucks. It is being extremely irrational. Which is INSANITY!
The third color…
Since green is associated with the Green Party, and well… I am not. I guess I will pick purple… A little red, a little blue.
We will never be able to come to any agreements if we can’t move to a purple zone. Agreements get things done. Let’s talk about a hot topic, then come to an agreement.
Let’s talk about abortion… that is offensive enough. Plus it is something that someone will ask me at some point or another in my campaign.
As you may have noticed, I like to define things in layman’s terms. So let’s do that.
What is abortion? Abortion means you kill an unborn baby.
The blue wants abortion because of a gamut of reasons. The red doesn’t want abortion because of well the definition… Abortion is killing babies.
The left poses arguments, what if the mother’s life is in danger, what if it is incest, what if it is a Tuesday after the third Friday?
The right then has to compromise and say, well if it is incest or rape, or the mom is in danger. So then some form of media blows it out of proportion and says you are suddenly for abortion. If it is convenient to damn you with that statement. If it is convenient to say you are against it they will spin it that way. So the left then wins.
How a Purple Argument Works
Purple: “Do you want to kill a baby?”
Purple: Great we agree. IT IS NONE OF THE GOVERNMENTS BUSINESS AND WE SHOULD STAY OUT OF IT!!!!!
See it is really easy, abortions are performed by doctors, doctors are FOR profit businesses. If people stop having them, and the government isn’t there to fund them, they go out of business.
Some may see this as a red argument. It isn’t. Because I have stated 2 facts. No one really wants to kill babies, and the government shouldn’t fund it.
I certainly will not give funds to well-established businesses that are failing due to poor management, so why would I do the same thing for doctors?
I can already hear the critics, “But Drew, Medicaid is government ran!!!”
It can’t be compared… so don’t be irrational, because remember irrationality leads to insanity.
