<EDIT> Since publishing this article Drew Tolbert has dropped out of the race for Governor. If you weren’t aware, I am running for Governor of the State of Alabama. I started my campaign early. The reason is clear… Alabama needs me!
Running for office isn’t only something I want to do, it is something I need to do. So, I have started campaigning and started early. I am starting in 2016 for an election in 2018. The reason… I need/want 1,000,000 people to vote for me!
In Alabama elections, not only will this be unheard of, but hear me out…
Race to a million votes
There are around 3 million people that CAN vote in the state. However, only about 850,000 actually voted for Governor Bentley.
I don’t necessarily think that the majority of Alabamians were represented with that election, and I know a majority do not want him in office now.
For a candidate to get that many votes, Alabamians that normally do not vote will need to vote and have their voices heard. We won’t just be people represented by a color (red or blue) but an ideology and belief system.
Together, I along with 999,999 Alabamians can end government waste, corruption, and have a message that isn’t fed to us by a political party.
Mass Political Involvement
If we as Alabamians can achieve this political involvement, we will see Alabama move to a government that properly represents the good people of Alabama.
If we work together we can make every school system function at its top ability. We will have the most beautiful self-sufficient state parks, and the lowest unemployment rate in the nation.
The people of Alabama are smart, well informed, and zealous. We just need to decide on the leader that will work with us to move us in the proper direction.
