“But why would you run for Governor?” Truthfully, I get that a lot. I am honestly tired of waiting for the world to change. So, maybe I can help move things along for the better.
On the surface running for Governor of Alabama seems to have a romantic appeal.
I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE THINKING! STOP!!! That isn’t a play on words and has nothing to do with anyone with the last name Mason….
Seriously, being governor sounds nice. But soon it consumes your life. People love you AND they hate you. Sometimes at the same time! They will hate your family… just because you are a person in power. All for $120,000 a year. This sounds like a terrible plan. There are better-paying jobs where far fewer people hate you.
Becoming a Catalyst for Change
Even though I am not governor yet I still believe I have become a catalyst for change.
I may have said that we need to reform education… and the current governor may have said our education system “sucks.”
I may have also said that I would use online polling to make educated decisions based on what the people of Alabama want… and the current governor may have used SurveyMonkey to find the replacement for Jeff Sessions.
Was either of those ideas entirely mine? Or entirely his? Who knows?! I have never spoken to Robert Bentley in my entire life. (Yet)
However, I do believe that somehow, maybe even only through the collective ether, I have begun to have an influence on Alabama Politics, and will continue to do so. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, right?
Let’s talk about the grocery tax, OR how I plan to use a website to raise money for our education fund to help prevent our schools from “sucking.”
Go ahead Bentley, your move…. you know where to find me.
Thanks for your continued support.
