We all know that customer service is done right when a company interacts with their customers, but what happens when a company hijacks a conversation?
Businesses on Twitter
We have all seen the amazing stories about people getting free nuggs because of a crazy deal on Twitter, and the backlash that the Big Baller Brand had before it was even a brand. But what about the Yellow Pages?
In this tweet, a clever user decided to mock the fact that we all use our smartphones to search, rather than the phone book. YP had a little something to say about that.
Phone Book Delivered?
Phone book anyone? Once this user discovered that YP is still delivering phone books… she also found out that the phone book has a Twitter account.
Yellow Pages keeping Green
How do you keep green by printing so many phone books? Recycling, of course!
Kids these days…
What does YP think when kids don’t even know what a phone book is?
Did you know that Yelp and YP aren’t associated? This Twitter user found out!
Let’s not even talk about Yelp!
Yellowpages.com has been around for a long time too…
Calling into radio stations?
Is calling into radio stations as outdated as the yellow pages? This is news to YP!
Speaking of… Don’t call them old…
The yellow pages are older than Betty White… and Betty White is older than sliced bread, but they still don’t like to show their age.
Oh, and Don’t forget about them either…
Do you remember the Yellow Pages? That was delivered last year…
What about pay phones?
This one is still a sore subject for the Yellow Pages. It is always hard to lose one of your crew.
Keeping up with the theme of my site and educating the reader… There is actually a name for this. It is called social listening. This is a technique that any social media manager worth their salt uses to engage their customers/clients/or even naysayers. Obviously, these tweets were all witty, but the account does address concerns with customers (small businesses) as well as consumers (people looking for businesses).
